By now, most of you have heard the verdict. On June 9th, 2026, a jury found Karmelo Anthony guilty of murder and sentenced him to 35 years in prison for the stabbing death of Austin Metcalf, a 17-year-old kid who was just at a track meet in Frisco, Texas. The reactions were mixed and are setting this country back one hundred years.

Let’s dive in.

A teenage boy went to a high school track meet and never came home. His twin brother was standing right there. His family had to sit through a year of waiting, a full trial, and endless media noise before they could even begin to grieve with some sense of closure.

And when the verdict came down, guilty, it felt the jury got this one right!

What actually happened.

April 2, 2025. A spring storm delays a track meet. Karmelo Anthony, a student from a different school, walks into Memorial High School’s team tent. Austin’s twin brother, Hunter, tells him to move. Austin steps in. Words are exchanged. Anthony says, “Touch me and see what happens” while reaching into his backpack. When Austin grabbed his arm to move him, Anthony pulled out a knife and stabbed him once in the chest.

He then ran.

This was not self-defense. The jury deliberated for three hours and saw that clearly. Honestly, a three hour deliberation shows that this was a clear cut and dry case of murder.

Now, the reactions.

The second that guilty verdict dropped, the left fired up the race machine. Faster than you can say “narrative,” activists were calling the verdict a “lynching.” Rep. Jasmine Crockett took to the cameras to claim race influenced the outcome. People were screaming that the all-white jury rigged the result.

One problem: the jury wasn’t all white. Three jurors were racial minorities, Asian and Indian descent. Eight were women, four were men.

Facts. Don’t. Care.

But here’s what really gets me. These same voice, the ones screaming about injustice, right now were silent about Austin Metcalf. Silent about his family. Silent about a young man with his whole life ahead of him who was stabbed at a track meet in broad daylight. Where was the outrage for him?

The answer is uncomfortable but simple: Austin didn’t fit the narrative.

We have been conditioned to see race before we see facts. To see injustice before we see truth. And there are people in positions of power who have built careers on keeping it that way. Because a divided people is an easily controlled people.

That is the enemy’s playbook. I mean both the spiritual enemy and the political one.

Scripture tells us in Proverbs 21:15: “When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.”

Justice was done here. A jury of twelve people, diverse, thoughtful, and given the full weight of the evidence, came back and said: this was murder. And that should bring us peace, not rage.

There is one more thing I cannot move past.

Austin Metcalf’s father spoke after the verdict. He said, and I want you to read this carefully:

“Forgiveness was for me.”

Not for Karmelo Anthony. Not for the cameras. Not for the narrative. For himself.

That is the most radical, countercultural, faith-driven thing a person can say after losing their child to violence. That is the Gospel in action. That is a man choosing not to be consumed by bitterness while still believing that justice mattered.

The race-baiters will move on to the next case. The next outrage. The next opportunity to convince Americans that the system is irreparably broken and that justice is only justice when it goes one particular direction. Let us not forget that the family raised over $600,000 dollars and instead of getting a season, professional, ankle biting defense attorney they opted in for a public defender.

Don’t let them fool you.

Hold onto the truth. The jury heard the evidence. The system worked. A family got a measure of peace. And a young man named Austin Metcalf was not forgotten.

Keep praying for both families. Pray for our country. And refuse, absolutely refuse, to let anyone tell you that seeking truth is the same as seeking hate.

Today’s update is a bit different. Instead of the usual news or opinions, I want to share honestly where I am in life. My goal: relieve some pressure and push back on the enemy’s lies.

In January of 2025, this idea of cataloging the Trump Administration’s first 100 days was born. Those 100 days were filled with learning and growing pains, but also with an increased understanding of how an admin is formed. So many of you have been here from the beginning, and I know we all learned a lot. That idea fostered this deeper love for America that I did not know was possible. That idea came to fruition and not only helped me grow but also helped many of you grow.

When this Substack started, I had no plan to go past 100 days, especially while I was in it. There were many days I could not keep up with what President Trump was doing, questioning how he even got it all done. After the 100 days and probably up until the rebrand to One Nation Under God, I explored different subjects, and while I love where we landed, I wanted to use this morning to give some updates.

In the beginning, I talked about the enemy’s lies and relieving pressure. You see, over the last few weeks, life has been blessing-filled. AKA busy with good stuff. I cannot complain. However, with that, I have failed to keep up here, and that is where the enemy has been whispering lies in my head. That I have given up, quit, not good enough to write. LIES LIES LIES. Do you ever feel that?

Here is the thing: he’s wrong. However, his little trick has motivated me not to be discouraged.

So, I come to all of you to ask for grace.

I will not be covering green news (as I have talked about before). My good friend Danielle is the master of news and sources, and I will continue to share her content.

I will be doing one piece a week for non-paid subs and an additional two pieces a month for paid subs. Financially supporting subs also get the archive with over 150 articles!

These pieces are going to cover everything from history, interesting stories, resources, guides, tips/tricks for politics, literature recommendations, and patriotic pieces.

Every dollar goes to one of two things. As many of you know, we have three teenage boys who play sports. While we are blessed and fortunate that we can afford these sports for our boys, other kids are not. Some of the funds here go to supplement where we can. Sometimes that is simply ensuring post-game snack baskets are filled, providing holiday meals for players, cleats, and more when funds allow. Life Update:

Well, the boys are almost out of school (finally)! I have transitioned training from a half-marathon to a full marathon, holy miles! My husband is growing our non-profit and is in a doctorate study program at Liberty University. And overall, life isn’t too bad.

But you know. We are all in a season, coming out of a season, or heading towards a season. Right now, I am going to really enjoy this season of peace, joy, ease, and good weather.
